The Opah has a silver-gray, speckled upper body and a red belly, with red fins and tail. The Opah also has a golden ring around its eyes. They are shaped like a pentagon, with an irridescent body.


Location-Where in the world you can find the Opah is.....
The Opah’s home is the Atlantic Ocean, especially near Madeira and the Azores, but many captures are from and Great Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia; it strays as far as Iceland and Newfoundland, and probably to the coast of Guinea. It is rare in the Mediterranean Sea.

Diet of the Opah is.....
The Opah does not eat plants or plankton and does not perform photosynthesis. It consumes mostly squid and krill, and sometimes small fish.

Mako sharks and great white sharks are primary predators of the Opah.

Little is known about the reproductive behavior, season or habitat of the Opah. However, eggs in the advanced stage have a thick shell that is amber to pink in color.
